Can the phone will 'Penetrate' Wall

Washington - Scientists at the University of Texas, Dallas, United States (U.S.) to design a chip that could transform mobile phones into X-ray scanner. As the superhero story, the phone can see 'through' a wall or other object.

They discovered how to harness terahertz electromagnetic spectrum, which was among vulnerable waves commonly used for microwave and infrared that can not be used for most consumer devices users.

Using their approach, an image or images can be created with the signals that operate in the terahertz range, without the need for a lens in the device.

"We are creating an approach that allows the use of the electromagnetic spectrum for consumer and medical applications," said Dr. Kenneth O, one of the professors on the team developing this mobile phone.

Realizing the phone doubles as a scanner X-ray seems to require careful design. The team that designed the findings related to two advanced science, the first dealing with the electromagnetic spectrum and the other developing microchip technology.

For information, terahertz scanning can also be used to detect cancer, tumors, diagnose diseases through breath analysis and monitor the level of toxins in the air.

That way, it is not possible, your phone will be able to serve as medical devices. But the researchers say it will expand and could not say when the results of their findings are available commercially.
